Those children may not have been Ana's biological chlidren, but because she helped saved one and felt responsibility for them, I can see why their loss had affected her. Perhaps we should give Ana the benefit of the doubt and see how she will turn out. After all, we got to know Jack a lot longer than we did Ana. And perhaps our perception of her may have been based upon her initial introduction at the beginning of the episode.
