The end of 'Shells" just gets me completely. For some reason, the whole death of Fred thing really gets to me and makes me sad even thinking about it now. I find the scene of innocent pre-Pylean Fred leaving home to go to evil L.A. more heartbreaking than even the death scene in 'A Hole in the World'. I am sure the music contributes mightily to that feeling of loss. As I said, I am a sucker for melancholy.
