Fred and Ilyria!

Fred the scientific minded and good hearted loyal friend contrasted to...

Ilyria the god king, which if i may point out shares teh scientific logic mindset, save that Ilyria is freed from the contraints of morality (and possibly a Pylia induced insanity). Fred is the emotional side while Ilyria is one of pure will and logic.

this may be that Ilyria is Id, and ego while Fred is mostly ego and superego, but I think that Ilyria and Fred illustrate the shadow concept the best as each views eachother as the bad part of them. Fred is killed and fears the monster she will turn into, and Ilyria fears and hates the weak human side she has gained.
