Xander, as Buffy's heart, idealizes Riley. So when Xander gives that speech to buffy in ITW, its really Buffy speaking to herself.
What are you saying, that Xander is really Buffy? Next thing, your gonna try to convince me that there is some sort of metaphorical relationship between Glory and Ben. I wasn’t born yesterday, pal.
