"Do I understand? Do -I- understand? Certainly I understand. I understand that you moved into the Grove and immediately made a beeline for my father with no concern as to where Ciri came from. You realized that he had a foal, and one that so closely resembled him, and you still felt it was your place to offer comfort. I understand that you were willing to step into another mare's hoofprints without even worrying if the mare in question was still around. Your show of righteous anger is humorous at best. My father knows that I am grown and that I have my own life to lead, and if he needs me, he knows how to find me. He doesn't need sniveling, simpering individuals around at all times. He's stronger than that. Our family is coming back together in the Grove. I know Mama will be staying and Ciri will be home soon. My earlier words stand... Stay away from my father."

Flicking her tail restlessly, she pinned an icy glare on the chestnut. She was a mixture of both of her parents, not only in appearance, but in attitude as well, and she knew her father would be proud to see her stand up for her beliefs.
