The filla's head cowered into the tall grass so that she was hidden. Moments passed and she did not reappear. The grass shook though there was no wind... she was trembling.
Suddenly a quavering, weak whinny was heard and the filla came stumbling out of the grass and landed in a heap in front of the mare. She laid shivering for a moment then dragged herself upward and closer to the mare. Standing before the mare she nickered weakly and forlornly. Her eyes, a window to a damaged heart.
