WILLPOWER PART 13: PACIFY

It's morning in the town of Sunnydale. It's a warm day. The kind of day where you are at the beach or
in the pool or something. We find ourselves at the magic box where Xander, Giles, Kennedy and Willow are
working. The place is quite a mess because Xander is making new cabinets. There are already standing two
finished cabinets and there is enough material to make at least two more.
Willow is sitting on the round table. There are three candles in a triangle around her on the table.
Willow is concentrating and softly mumbles some words we don't understand. She doesn't seem to be bothered
by the fact that Xander is making a lot of noise. She seems peaceful.
In the back, Giles and Kennedy are training. Or, to be exact, Kennedy is hitting a punching bag and Giles sits
on a chair, looking through the logs and occasionaly lifting his head to see how Kennedy is doing.
Willow walks into the backroom.
WILLOW *happy*
Done!
GILES
That was one of the best ideas Angel ever had.
KENNEDY *stopping for a second*
You mean that anti-violence spell?
WILLOW
Yes, I tried it here first. If it works, I'll do our house and Xander's too
KENNEDY
What does it do exactly?
WILLOW
It stops violence....
Kennedy walks towards Willow, who is only a few feet away and slaps Willow in the face. Willow gives Kennedy
a surprised look. The slap itself didn't hurt though.
KENNEDY *smiling*
Looks like it didn't work
WILLOW *not angry*
Before I was rudely slapped in the face, I was going to say that it stops all violence
from demons. Humans can do whatever they want.
KENNEDY
Sounds good. Any flaws?
WILLOW
Well... one tiny thing
GILES
Yes, appaerently you can stand outside the spell and throw stuff in.
WILLOW
Still, all the added protection is helpful.

We are now at Xander's place. On the couch sits Andrew. His eyes are open and he is staring in front of him, clearly
upset. In the room, it's completely silent. Finally, Andrew breaks off his stare and stands up. He then takes
takes his coat, even though it's really hot, and walks out of the apartment.
The scene shifts to Dawn who is lying in her hospital bed. She's not very comfortable because the doctor is examining
her ribs. He presses very lightly on some spots but it is enough to make Dawn yell in pain.
When the doctor is done, Dawn finally manages to relax a little. The doctor leaves the room and about ten seconds
after that, Andrew enters. Dawn notices that Andrew is standing there.
DAWN *still in some pain*
Hi, Andrew. You do know that these are not visiting hours.
ANDREW
I just sneaked through. How are you?
DAWN
I'm fine. Really
ANDREW
Are you?
Dawn decides to change the subject.
DAWN
Well... you didn't come here to talk about that. Let me guess, you talked to Rachel?
ANDREW
Not exactly
DAWN
Then what's the problem
Andrew sits down on a chair aside the bed, looks at the floor and takes a deep breath. He then looks up again.
ANDREW
I went to her place, but she wasn't there..... so I went to your place to see if she was there.
I saw her and Kennedy there.
DAWN
You don't mean that....
ANDREW
No. But I saw Rachel practically begging Kennedy to take her back.
DAWN
Ok, I didn't expect *that*. What happened?
ANDREW *a bit frustrated*
Well, Kennedy kicked her out but that's not really the point, is it?
DAWN
Oh Andrew, I'm sorry. But at least you know the truth
ANDREW
You know, the truth bites.
DAWN
It mostly does.
ANDREW
So, what do I do now? I mean, this has never happened to me before
DAWN
Well, you can dump her or you can talk to her about it.... or both
Andrew realizes that Dawn is right and sighs. He tries to smile, but he doesn't succeed
ANDREW
How could she do that to me?
DAWN *comforting*
You're better off without her Andrew. You can find someone better. Someone who won't cheat on
you and who is not a lesbian.
ANDREW
You really think so?
DAWN
Sure I do, you just have to find her
Andrew decides to change the subject again.
ANDREW
So, how are you... really?
DAWN
I'm okay
ANDREW
Dawn, I heard you yelling all the way down the corridor. You don't have to be tough-ass
Dawn with me.
A tear streams down Dawn's face. She tries to keep her cool but it fades away as Andrew looks at her knowingly.
DAWN
You have no idea how much this hurts, like... all the time.
ANDREW
I guess I don't. How long will it last?
DAWN
The doctor says the pain will gradually lessen. But it could take a couple of weeks
before the pain is gone.
ANDREW
Can't they just give you better pain-killers?
DAWN
The doctor say morfine would significantly lengthen the healing-time, so I declined.
ANDREW
You know, no-one would judge you if you choose to take it anyway. Or maybe I could ask
Willow if she knows some sort of pain-killer spell.
DAWN
No, that's okay. But thanks for asking.
ANDREW
Are you afraid they'll think you're a wuss?
DAWN
Well... that's a little bluntly said, but uh... I guess so.
ANDREW
Well, if it matters anything to you, I think you're very strong.
Dawn gives Andrew a smile.
ANDREW *smiles*
I'll leave now before I get kicked out
As Andrew walks out of the door, they both have a small smile on their face.

We are at an abandoned warehouse which is obviously a vamp nest. There are about fifteen vampires
there. Most are sleeping, but some are awake. Suddenly, someone comes up through the sewer entrance of the building.
The vampires look at that person and see that it's Kate.
KATE
Hi
One of the vampires charges over to her, but she hits it a couple of times and then puts her hand on his head.
Almost immediately, the vampire starts burning. He turns to ashes and Kate faces the rest of the gang.
KATE
That was rude
VAMPIRE1
You're a vampire
KATE
Well... duh! Why else do you think I'm coming up through the sewers. The smell?
VAMPIRE1 *angry*
What do you want?
KATE
This town.
The group of vampires start laughing.
VAMPIRE1
This town already is ours
KATE
Oh really? Because all I see is a bunch of vampires just waiting to be killed by that witch
and her friends.
VAMPIRE1
And you think you're different?
KATE
We will take this town back
VAMPIRE1
What do you mean, we?
KATE
Well, I'll be your new leader.
VAMPIRE1
I have a better idea. I kill you and we party.
Kate points her hands at the vampire and shoots a bolt of fire at the vampire. He's dust.
KATE
Any more objections?
All the vampires quickly shake their heads.
KATE *smiles*
Good. Tonight, we make out first move.

We're at the Bronze. Willow, Kennedy, Xander, Andrew and Giles are sitting at a table.
XANDER
See, this is just what we need to relax. Music and dancing.
GILES
Did they make it twice as loud while I was gone?
XANDER
No. Guess you were just away too long big G.
KENNEDY
Why don't we go here more often
XANDER
Well, all of us have jobs and then there's the patrolling, the training you and Will have.
That doesn't leave much room for Bronzin' it.
XANDER
So Andrew, where's the girlfriend?
ANDREW
Rachel? She couldn't make it tonight.
XANDER
Bummer
KENNEDY
Come on Will. Dance!
Kennedy pulls Willow off her chair and onto the dance floor.
XANDER
I don't think we have worry about Willow not getting any fun
ANDREW
No, we don't.
Giles leaves to get some more drinks.
XANDER
Okay Andrew, what's up?
ANDREW
What do you mean?
XANDER
You've been depressing-guy all night.
ANDREW
Am I?
XANDER
What's wrong? Had a fight with Rachel?
ANDREW
No
XANDER
Then what?
ANDREW
I just feel guilty, you know. Here we are, having the fun while Dawn is alone and....
XANDER
Andrew, Dawn's fine. She's just in the hospital as a precaution. She'll be out in a couple of days.
Andrew looks at Xander as if he was saying "Are you completely insane?". But then he realizes that Dawn wouldn't want
him to say anything and he quickly changes the subject.
ANDREW
You know when she's coming home?
XANDER
The plan is for her to come home the day after tomorrow. But it all depends on what the doctor says.
Giles comes back with more drinks. Willow and Kennedy also come back to the table.
XANDER *to Andrew*
Now come on. Let's enjoy the evening, ok?
WILLOW
Hey, don't jinx us

We are at the magic box. A large group of vampires stands before the door and busts through the door.
Kate directs the entire group.
KATE
Ok everyone, as we planned. Find what I want.
The vampires then bust through the door and start tearing the place apart. Kate joins them in their search.
After about fifteen minutes, one of the other vampires comes to Kate
VAMPIRE
We can't find it.
Kate tries to hit the vampire hard in the face, but before her fist touches the vampire's face, a magical
barrier stops her fist and sends out a magical bolt to throw her back. The vampire starts to smile.
KATE *angry*
Stop that or you'll be very sorry...
The vampire realizes he had better stop.
KATE
And.... get me what I want!
The vampires search the Magic Box for more than an hour until they get tired of it.
VAMPIRE2
It's not here, let's get out of here.
Kate reluctantly agrees.

Giles comes to the magic box and finds the door broken down.
GILES
Well... at least I was out
He goes inside and finds the store completely trashed.
GILES
Bloody hell!
Giles starts cleaning up the mess, but it is really a big mess.

Willow, Kennedy and Giles are cleaning up the mess. It is dark now and the store looks a lot better. It almost looks
like it did before.
WILLOW
Ok Giles, I'm wondering... it doesn't look like they found what they're looking for
KENNEDY
Ok, why do you say 'they' and why do you say they're lookng for something.
WILLOW
Well, it's too much of a mess to be caused by one person..... well, usually
WILLOW
And assuming that they didn't just come to tear this place apart, they were looking
for something. And judging by the big mess it was, they continued searching for a long
time. So they probably didnt't find it.
KENNEDY *sarcastic*

Willow's right. Why do those demons always tear the place apart? Glory was crazy, but at least
she had the decency to buy the items she needed.
KENNEDY
Getting sidetracked here! What were they looking for?
GILES
Well.... I don't know

Later that night, Willow and Kennedy are sitting home. They are watching TV. Suddenly, Willow speaks.
WILLOW
Kennedy, what's wrong?
KENNEDY
What do you mean? Why would something be wrong?
WILLOW
You tell me. I'm getting this tensed vibe off you all day
KENNEDY
It's nothing.... really
Willow gives Kennedy a stare
KENNEDY
It's really nothing
Willow tries to intensify her stare.
KENNEDY
Ok ok, stop that! You gotta promise not to tell anyone.
WILLOW
I won't tell anyone.
KENNEDY
Rachel came here last night.
WILLOW
Andrew's girlfriend? What'd she want?
KENNEDY
Well......
Willow gets the message
WILLOW *shouts*
You?! She wanted you?
KENNEDY *practically whispers*
Yes
WILLOW *obviously afraid of the answer*
What happened?
KENNEDY
I told her I wasn't interested. She started begging... so I kicked her out
WILLOW *smiling*
You kicked her out?
KENNEDY
I know it probably wasn't the most humane thing to do but I didn't know what else to do.
WILLOW *smiling*
No... you did the right thing. Being honest and clear is all that works in such a
situation. If you're not honest, things will only go from bad to worse... believe me
KENNEDY
Sounds like you have experience in that area
WILLOW
I was in almost the same situation as you. I once had a boyfriend, Oz. He left and I got involved
with Tara. Then Oz came back and wanted me back. I couldn't tell him about Tara, so things got
from bad to worse until he finally just found out.
Willow looks Kennedy in the eyes.
WILLOW
I'm glad you just told her the truth.
KENNEDY
You may be.... but Andrew won't
WILLOW
Are you going to tell him?
KENNEDY
No, but.. like you said... these things have a tendancy to come out eventually
WILLOW
Do you think Rachel will tell him?
KENNEDY
No... she definitely won't
They are suddenly interrupted because the phone starts ringing. Kennedy stands up and answers the phone.
After a couple of seconds she hands over the phone to Willow.
KENNEDY
It's for you.
WILLOW
Hello, this is Willow....... Althanea, hi!....... Bad news huh?....... A little vague.......
You let me know if you find out more ok?
Willow then hangs up the phone.
KENNEDY
I didn't like the sound of that
WILLOW
She said that something powerful will rise in Sunnydale.
KENNEDY
And?
WILLOW
That's it.
KENNEDY
I was thinking more of, What? How? Where, When?
WILLOW
They don't know, but it is something very powerful. They only know that it's not here yet.
KENNEDY
You think it's linked to the raid on the Magic Box?
WILLOW
It could be. I'd better call Giles.
Willow takes the phone again.

It is a bright day again. The scoobs are all sitting in the living room of casa Summers. There is a bed positioned in
the living room. Dawn is lying in it. Willow, Kennedy, Xander, Andrew and Giles are sitting on the chairs and the couch.
KENNEDY
I can't believe they sent you home when you can't even walk or sit.
DAWN
It's not like I'm in danger any more. It just has to heal. The doctor thinks it won't take too
long. Appaerently, I heal fast.... well, not slayer fast, but you get the idea.
XANDER
Well, at least they brought you here.
DAWN
Yeah, so... what'd I miss?
KENNEDY
The usual, big evil coming.
GILES
The Magic Box was totally trashed.
XANDER
Some of my new cabinets are now a pile of wood.... Don't look at me like that. I worked
hard to make those.
WILLOW
Well, my spell didn't protect from making a mess
DAWN
What spell?
WILLOW
I cast an anti-violence spell at the Magic Box. It stops demons from attacking at the Magic Box.
XANDER
Okay, back to this big evil. What do we know?
WILLOW
Not much. We know it's something bad and that it isn't here yet. Other than that.. nothing.
Giles, do you think it has anything to do with the attack on the Magic Box.
GILES
Not really, if they really needed something, they could just special-order it from us.
ANDREW
Maybe what they wanted wasn't for sale
GILES
Possibly. Or they just didn't think about special-ordering it.

We are at Kate's hideout. The gang of vampires is there too.
VAMPIRE

VAMPIRE2

No, we're gonna eat the deliverer.
KATE
No, you morons! That watcher would never sell it. I have a better idea.

Does it involve killing and feeding?
KATE
Yes, but only after I get what I want.

Kate is now sitting alone in a room. She's in a trance and we can hear her speaking with ehr mind to someone.
The other person's voice is terribly deformed however, so we can't recognize the voice.
KATE
I cannot find the item. What must I do?
