 Kholas whimpered slightly and scratched at his color. His claw-like fingernails could find no purchase on the smooth surface, and trying to revert to a wolf while wearing the thing would choke him.

So Kholas tried not to do anything at all. His thoughts flickered to his tiny ship and its one weapon system. Almost as quickly, he suppressed the line of thought, trying to clear his mind. That much, Kholas was good at. He hoped it would allow him to stay alert and avoid any more unpleasant shocks.
