She was taken aback by the sudden change in his demeanor but didn't miss a beat as he led her through the dance. She felt her cheeks flaming in response to his compliments as she lowered her eyes demurely. -*That's very sweet of you Lowell to have paid such attention to me, I'm very flattered*- She tried to return the favor, lifting her eyes to firmly fasten to his face. Not wanting to hurt his feelings or ruin his time here at the ball, she attempted to drive all thoughts of Spirited Dreams from her mind. -*Now that we're better acquainted, perhaps we may become good friends*- she said confidently, placing careful emphasis on her last words. She didn't want to give him false hopes if his own desires lay in a direction other than simple comraderie. Gracefully, she went through the motions of the waltz, the steps unfamiliar yet not difficult for the agile girl.
