What I "seem" to be saying is just that... Your interpretation of my "Opinions"... Why would it matter that much about what I choose to do and who I choose to stand behind or buy from that it warrants soooo much discussion?

I've not mentioned names or mentioned particulars in any way... Many breeders do accept deposits for pups not yet conceived and I choose not to look to them... MOST of those people I've seen do not WORK their dogs and to me I want a WORKING dog...which in most case means that I don't buy from breeders who sell to the public... Which makes a deposit pretty much pointless... If the "breeder" has faith in me as an owner of one of their puppies--a working dog breeder who doesn't sell their animals to the public but who has proven themselves as a cut above the rest in the dogs they produce--they would ALREADY know what kind of owner and what kind of character I posess...it's FAR easier to know a persons character with intimate knowledge of them rather than how willing they are to put down a deposit for a dog...

I see your point...but I choose to go a different route and choose to buy from a different KIND of breeder in this case... So what??? Why the long discussions and hypothetical questions? I know of plenty of breeders who produce covetted stock...who don't need nor require deposits on their two or three breedings a year...the sell to their friends and those they have intimate knowledge with and do just fine in doing so. They spend more time working and proving/improving their dogs than they do producing more and more of them.

I own two Boerboels... How is my opinion going to Villianize anyone?
