Subject: A few questions for Cheryl

Cheryl,

I don't want to misinterpret what you have written in your response so I would like to clarify a couple of things first.

Have you ever bred dogs and charged money for pups?

I agree that if you are going to breed, then you should cull.

But where you said,

"“Breeding” ideally is the practice of animal husbandry for the purpose of producing offspring of better overall quality than the previous generation."

and

"First and Foremost, a breeder should be breeding for their own program."

My other question is why would you need to breed in the first place or have your own program? I mean chicken, sheep, goat, pig and cattle all fall under the term of animal husbandry and they all share the same destiny and purpose. Your plate. But a dog is ultimately bred for what other reason, if not for the sale to the public as pets?

Dan G.
