the problem with nila was posted on the board.
we are all aware of the theories revolving around the problem in question.
jb was the breeder.
i haven't seen anyone posting personal accusations such as he beats his wife, cheats on his taxes or picks his nose and eats it.
as a breeder, i'm sure questions about his reputation come up just as often as they do with anyone else in the business.
they should.
why should anyone who is breeding a living creature be immune to questions about their policies or what some might see as a mistake?
why shouldn't they expect answers to those questions?
and why on earth should mentioning jb's name in a light other than 'holy' bring such venom down on the poor soul who says whatever it is in the first place?
i saw his name mentioned only in the respect that he was the breeder and the pup had a problem.
any breeder whose pup has a problem should have expected the same thing.
it all comes down to what the buyer believes the 'right' theory is and whether dogs with demodectic mange should be bred.
obviously, terry believes that they shouldn't.
so do i and many others who are not posting because they have their own reputations to consider.
you may believe differently but let's not make a tempest in a teapot here.
jb may be an excellent breeder but he isn't God.
