我在拍賣時見到這支 alto 可以給我多一點資料嗎?而這支又值多少錢

Conn saxophones are good but this one seems old. You have to check the serial number to find the model and year it was made. Generally, Vintage saxophone made in around 192x will have a lot of problems (intonation and key movements) and saxophone from 195x are much better.

15k太貴。舊sax既聲係比較好，尤其美國制既vintage sax。不過控制和保養上可能會遇上很多問題。最自己先試試吹，真的喜歡才決定。我覺得最盡值10k。
玩過幾年vintage，我最後都係買左支yamaha 82z，因為vintage音質雖好，未必支支音準都得。而且煩起上來係要成日要整。這點你不得不考慮，因為整親最少都要幾百。
有閒錢買支來玩玩或收藏就可以，買來主力地吹就真係唔建議。

$17000-HKD for a Selmer mark 7??? I don't think a mark 7 for this value even the sax is 99% new. According to most saxophonist, mark 7 sax are not a good product in the Selmer history. Althrough mark 7 is also a vintage sax (over 20 years), but it can not compare with mark 6, SBA, BA..... (Just my opinion, don't be angry!)

I test the vintage Conn at the V music. This sax is OK both on condition and set-up. The mechanism of the sax is great good that on a sax over 90 years old. Agreed with c.s. that a vintage sax may need more repair than a new one. But it's different taste that on a new & vintage saxophone.

很多謝各前輩的意見,始終現在需要一支每天都練習,所以很怕要時常維修,我想都打算放棄了.

最近到過通利和譜揚,看過能負擔買得起的有Cannonball, yamaha yas62和 yanagisawa a901 (因可分期=.=)想請問各位這幾支對一個玩了幾個月的初哥那支比較好呢.謝謝大家.

gzm,

You are making the correct choice boy, Cannonball, Yamaha YAS62 and Yanagisawa A901 are all good sax, bring your mouthpiece and favorite reed go try them all, trust your ears and feeling, obey and follow your heart.

Compare with what those great students and beginners use in mainland China, any of these sax you mentioned could be a super sax for them. Don't waste too much time thinking about hardwares, the music and learning is what you gonna focus on.

I agree that SBA BA and Mark VI are better choices....provide that you have twice or three times of the money...

I am not getting angry...

but must say that Mark VII's bad reputation was due to the comparison to the Mark VI....if u played one...u won't think it is that bad....at least will be several times better than the Conn that we are talking about....

Hi gzm,

I recommend you choose betwwen Yamaha YAS62 and Yanagisawa A901. The quality of Cannonball is rather unstable.

Just play some songs you usual play & play some scales or chromatic scale with a tuner!! And you must know some of the tone will not in tune but if it's not special flat(b) or SHarp(#) will be fine!!
Trust your feeling~ you can try the new instrument compare with the vintage one, get what you want...just try!! No need to pay!! You no need to pay if you don't buy after you try the Sax!!Let's try~~~~~~~Let's fun~~~~~

I don't understand Whatever~ Did you try that sax? I've try it! I don't think it's not a good instrument! at least the sax had changed all the pad set...I think that it had a excellent conditions and i think it will better than many second hand instrument! And i think just try it, no need to pay!! I think he can try more, see more & learn more experience from trying instrument. It's a big difference between New sax and Vintage~ Do you agreed?
Maybe you just don't like the shop?? Did you ever been there?

I agreewhole heartedly that trying different saxes help one learn a lot....either vintage or modern will do...

I dont hate any one even including that SC...never met him though...

I also like Conn....got a 10M as well....

just that alto is a bit too much in price....model...Chu Berry....not bad...sweet sounding...
