I have been playing alto & tenor sax for 47 years. Recently I was listening to Joe Lavano play soprano sax on "His Dream". I knew I had to learn to play soprano. So for about a year I have been searching to buy one. Where do you start from a $200 Quest, good for only a lamp, or the highly acclaimed Yanagisawa @ $6000? So I went to the local music store and asked if I could play their $3000 Selmer. Couldnt get a sound. But this young lady had a Monique Pro listed on Craigs list for $285. Said she had played it 10 years ago in high school band. She said she had problems getting an alto and tenor to play for her, but the Monique she said, played with ease. So I got in my car yesterday and drove about 60 miles to meet her. We met at a gas station and I asked the owner if I could come inside and blow the horn. "IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING" to blow. Such ease and intonation. I now have the most wonderful Soprano anyone could own and I only paid $240 for it. If you play sax and want a soprano, purchase a Monique Pro, without hesitation.

The reason why l checked about this Monique is becoz like a few minutes ago a friend of mine has one and some upper notes fromG# to B the sound was pitching with out him holding the octave key,l then discovered that the problem was the neck the pad for the octave key was not closing,l then checked it again with his other neck and it played perfectly. From my opinion it sounded farely good though l was just playing alone in the house with no instrument accompaniment .
