Yeah Perry, I know what ya mean about the gadgets. I have borrowed my father-in-law's tracker and with young dogs, I've got e-collars, on top of that trying to manipulate the GPS... man! I usually forget to remove a magnet or turn on an E-collar. But I tell you, once you get that GPS figured out, they're nice. Yes, you can bee-line back to the truck with that tracking collar there, but lay something down somewhere and lose it in the woods and that GPS route will take you as close as you can get back down that same path.
I'm a believer in them. I ran into some of the same problems that fellow you were talking about did at first, but once you get the right one and figure out what it can and can't do, you're set.
