I don't understand why all the messages in this thread can not be viewed without a lot of clicking back and forth.
But, Dan, You said you hope the black color is recesive. Remember, recesive is forever. If people dont want the black color, you should hope it is dominant so that it can be eliminated. You will not in your lifetime be able to eliminate a recesive gene.
As far as gathering data: I crossed a daughter of Jug (black and tan colored) on a grandson of Jug (blue merle colored). As you and everyone at the '05 world hunt knows (because I had them penned there for all to see), four of six of those pups came out pure black with a small white blaze on the chest.
