I guess more specifically I was wondering if it was just random dogs occasionally or if the "natural" gene could be bred into strains of dogs.
I've always believed what Perry stated; if put on enough desired game they would lean in that direction. It's too early to tell really about my leopard pup, but I've got two Mt Curs that seem to prefer deer over any thing. Really aggravating! If not for that they would be pretty good. It's just disappointing to keep taking them and getting side-tracked with deer chases.
I'm starting to think their trash problem is my fault because I thought just exposing them to coon would work. Apparently that's not the case. Which leads me back to my original topic of "natural" dogs. I'm like what Dan N. said, My preferred method of training would be to just take 'em huntin' and let their breeding take over.
Mike
