I don't talk about this much, and maybe that's why it still hurts, but here goes.
I married my 1st hubby when I was 15.(not proud of that now, so no bashing me) I lived in the middle of TN. MOST the men there are like that. It's a chain, and hadn't been broken when I lived there. I'd call the police, and they never would do anything, I even got into trouble for calling them, they said not to call them for stupid things. My ex's mother got it from her hubby, so she never said anything. We went to see my sister, and he hit me there. She was in such shock she didn't say anything. Like I said, everyone thought he was great.
He was in the Air Force, we got a transfer to Pope, NC. Away from everyone and everything I knew, I was lost with this asshole. He hit me again, and again,....but people over there were different. He got his ass kicked twice for hitting me. Marc, I can't tell you how many times I left this fool. Or I should say I was the fool, since I kept going back. I dind't have much of a family growing up, so he and Christian were my family. That's all I wanted was my family.
Finally, he pushed me down a set of concrete stairs and broke my ribs, I left, and didn't go back. Took my son and ran to MO. I filed for divorce after only 3 years, and he sued me for custody. I thought there was no way in hell this guy, who beat me, and I have proof, could ever get my child, well he did. The judge said Christian needed to be with his dad, and people down there think mormons are a cult. YES he said that to me, the judge. I fought for 2 full years and finally gave up. Christian loves his daddy, and Richard had NEVER hurt him.
I've seen woman come and go, I tried to tell most of them how he was, but they wouldn't listen, till they would call and say, I'm bringing Christian to you, and leaving this asshole. Then, about 3 years ago, this woman came from nowhere. Older lady, about 40 (Richard is only 26) Nice lady, she loves my boy, and takes very good care of him, and he loves her, well she called. Said Richard hit her, she was at Richards' mom's house (I was on my way down there for Christmas break with Christian) To pick Christian up at the in-laws, cause she put Richard in the hospital. He hit her one time, and she layed him out. And that's all it took. He has never raised his hand at her since, and he has really changed his tune with me. We are very friendly, we even go out to dinner when I down, all of us. Me, my girls, Christian, my hubby, Him and her, and it's really nice. He has told me many times how sorry he is for doing those things 9 years ago, we were both kids, and now that he has had time to think about it, he's really sorry.
Before Chris (hubby now) I was married to yet another man in the Air Force (maybe that's what it is) And he hit me once. I left and didn't go back. He STILL begs me too...never, no way. All of this, both men, have made me a better person,and have givin me 3 wonderful children, and for that, I thank them. Other than that, I'll hold there hand to hell :)
Chris is an awesome loving man. He would never ever hit me. We don't even fight. We disagree, but not very often, but even when we do...it doesn't really matter. I have learned, that the only important thing in my life is my family, nothing else REALLY matters. So when we do disagree, it's always about something silly, and I blow it off, cause life is too short to fight with the ones you love.
I'll tell ya though, if one of my girls is ever being hit by her man, it will only happen once. They don't know my stroies, they are too young, and I probally won't tell them when they get older either, but if some guy ever touches one of my girls out of anger....I will surly beat the snot out of him. (or pay someone else to do it)
