Subject: Smoking

Hi all!

I have several residents complaining about "environmental smoke" and the long term effect on non-smoking residents. We have some extremely heavy smokers in the building. The smoke enters the restroom ventilation system and then enters non-smokers apartments. I have called a service company to check the ventilation system to ensure it is working properly. I have also suggested that non-smoking residents keep their restroom doors closed to block the smell, and have also suggested the use of air purifiers. Moving them to another apartment or floor will not work because I also have residents complaining who have no smokers in their hallway. The smoke seems to circulate through the building, regardless of where the smokers are. Any suggestions?
