SCART gives better picture and sound than RF. A cheap SCART cable is OK. Until we have direct digital connection, DVI (the US is ahead of Europe as usual) SCART (equivalent to US "composite" but with an obligatory idiot-proof, odd-shaped connector) is the best option for connecting eveything audio-visual: receiver; videotape recorder; TV. Using RF you are broadcasting and receiving all over again, and via analogue, with losses, and potential for interference. Also there are different reception standards in different countries.
