I managed to get English sky tv in Milan.
I am not an expert, but I can receive BBC1,BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 along with all the other Sky channels. Presumably that means I am within the Astra 2D footprint. I have a 60cm dish and a new white slimline sky decoder (Supplied by sky as 2nd box in household UK).
The signal on the Terrestrial channels is not that strong.
I get perfect picture 85% of the time, but sometimes when the weather is bad, the pictures start to break up and very occasionally I get no signal. ITV is the first to go followed by Channel 5, Channel 4 and BBC. All other channels are perfect all the time. I had to get someone in to align my dish because it had to be precise to pick up the weekish Astra beam and I was only just clearing a building in the line of fire so to speak! This cost 40 euros. I hope this helps. Ciao form Italia.
