The 31st Dec deadline is only for replacement cards for the old "solus" card. "New subscribers" to the 23.50GBP P2 FTV cards will still be able to obtain them after this date, but activation will require a phone call. With the "solus" card replacements activation was automatic. (Info in part from the Digital Spy Forum).
