That's a good point 'Outsider', it can't be illegal to watch the BBC since it became 'free to air' but I guess some of us also like to watch ITV, C4 & C5, something which we can only do by covert activity. If we are willing to pay I really do think we should be free to choose the TV we want to watch.

However this thread is about the BBC charter renewal so well done Jim, I hope many others follow your example and respond accoedingly.
