Did all that. In the end the bloke from the shop said it was a circuit or something. He replaced it and it's working fine now. It's nice to live in a country where there are still repairmen who fix things. In England nowadays it seems that the cheapest way is to sling broken appliances and buy new ones. Although deep down I was hoping it would be beyond help, and I could justify buying a Dreambox. What a complicated character I am.
