No - because 2D has only one beam. Still it is of course important to have at least 20dB of crosspol isolation.

In the receiver there is a amplifier that amplifies the whole band from 950-2150MHz. In that band there will be powerful Eurobird and Astra 2A/2B transponders that in theory can saturate the amplifier and cause intermodulation which interfer with the low power Astra 2D transponders.

It would have been interessting to test as 950-1250MHz band filter or a 1250MHz low pass filter but I dont believe it will make any big difference. With such a filter installed only transponders between 10.7-11.0GHz and 11.7-11.85GHz could be received.

I dont believe so because its quite normal it that there is variations if you are outside the footprint or even on the edge of the footprint.
