Subject: Poor or non-reception of ASTRA2D in southern and eastern europe Author: Anthony [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 06:01:15 08/13/03 Wed Looking through the reception reports for Southern and Eastern Europe, I can safely the reasons why people are getting mixed results with poor or non-reception of ASTRA2D in Southern and Eastern Europe are purely because; (a)The ASTRA2D footprint doesn't officially cover those parts of Europe, (b)Use of too small a dish size(see worldwide reception map for footprints and dish sizes you should use), (c)a receiver with a high threshold rating, (d)Too high a noise level on your dish LNB. Viewers in Turkey and Cyprus and Greece and areas to the extreme edge of the footprint would be best to use a 3.7m (I'd say a 4-4.5m dish to provide some margin for bad weather signal strength)dish and 0.3dBLNB and a receiver that can cope well with weaker signal strengths.
