Subject: Legal Action letter sent to all Spec needs families

So....how many of you families were surprised and confused about the letter sent in the mail outlining a Class Action Lawsuit for Families of Children with "Special Needs"? I know that I received one and read it and didn't know if it pertained to our family for sure or not. Today at work I received some info from Community Living, a letter outlining in plain language what this is all about, by a Legal Counsel for Community Living Ontario. The most important part was in bold and I quote

"The bottom line is that people should probably submit the form opting out of the class action ONLY if they believe that they could personally sue the government for damages relating to having been denied Special Needs Agreement benefits, and be more likely to succeed, and be awarded greater damages than the Class Action might net them, if indeed it turns out to be successful. Anyone else has nothing to lose by filing this notice away and waiting to see what happens.

So it is as clear as mud. Discussion anyone?
