This does actually apply to me. A few years ago we applied for this funding from the government but I was denied because I would not sign the papers giving up my rights as a custodial parent. I likely could file on my own but like most others in the same situation I can not afford to pay a lawyer to do it. So I am just going to wait and see what develops with the case. I am sure that it will take months for an outcome. Maybe even years.
