Staring at some distant spot on the wall the otterdidn't even realize his companions leaving.
Vermin! Most of the fort knew of the fate of his kingdom. it had been overrun by pirates who, following one of the great qua rivers, ambushed everyone and forced his home land into a great place of terrible death for seasons.
Vermin!A great hatred bubbled up inside him as he recalled those deepest and darkest memories.Of course there were the good, but it required much trust for him to be friendly with them.
Turning on his stool the otters gaze followed his friend. Who knew? maybe the ones like Xan and sunflower, and the others he had met on his jurneys, where a sign of happier times to come.Slowly the River tail's gaze rolled back to his drink which once again began to take his full atttention as it had earlier.

"One can never be to sure in deed."
