She gingerly laid her head down, cradling her casted arm as she looked blankly at the wall across from her. Something seemed disconnected with her--naively distant, as if she had lost the deeper, more morbid sense of knowledge or grasp of reality she had once had. Reaching for the water, she suprised herself in missing the cup by a good foot, and in trying again she knocked the cup with the back of her hand, sending it to the floor.
