Subject: Official 2006-07 MBB schedule released

Sorry, here it is:
<a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://ccsubluedevils.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/072406aab.html">http://ccsubluedevils.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/072406aab.html</a>

IMO - the most fan friendly and toughest OOC schedule ever in Howie's 11 years at the helm!

Highlights:
* 3-day exempt tourney at Michigan w/ Davidson and E. Mich
* 5 home games at Detrick, including two A-10 teams (St. Bona and LaSalle)
* hosting UMass at Mohegan Sun Arena
* 2 CAA foes - vs. Delaware and at Northeastern
* 2 AE games - vs. Vermont and at UMBC
* 1 vs. Harvard (Ivy) and 1 at Lehigh (PL)

A great schedule anyway you slice it. I love the different conferences and the SOS. Davidson was an NCAA team, Michigan made the NIT finals last season, tempered by a more conservative matchups vs. Lehigh and UMBC. I love the games vs. Northeast publics (Vermont, UMass, Delaware). I even like the "directional" school in the tourney - Eastern Michigan. Not to mention trips to Boston, Baltimore, and Detroit area for recruiting/alumni purposes. Good stuff.

I am digging the schedule. The tournament in Michigan should show what the team has right away. Davidson may take the cake! I am shocked (and pleased) at the caliber of teams visiting Detrick. Vermont, Umass, Northeastern & La Salle are all SOLID mid major teams. I am looking forward to the 15 home games!!!!

I am amazed that St. Bona is coming to NB. They are in rural western N.Y. and very seldom leave the confines of the Rielly Center for non A-10 games. The Devils have to avenge that horrible loss out there last year.
