Subject: Future of NEC football

Great news from MBB aside, what is going on with the NEC - specifically with football?

Where is the announcement of the new NEC Commissioner?

Stony Brook has announced its intentions to leave, how long do you think until UAlabany does the same?

Will any MAAC schools want to join as FB-only members? Is that really a good idea for the CCSU and the NEC?

What is the real possibility of AE football - and full membership for CCSU?

----
Also, here's an excerpt from a ProJo article on the troubles in the URI athletic department and the rumor (although highly unlikely) that some of they big boys may join the NEC (which makes no sense to me):

"This is the last season for the Atlantic 10 Football Conference. The teams will be absorbed into the Colonial Athletic Association in 2007, but there is speculation that several A-10 members -- most notably URI, Maine and New Hampshire -- might opt to join an existing league such as the Northeast Conference or form a new league with other schools in the Northeast instead of playing football against CAA schools such as Delaware, James Madison and Hofstra."

This could be the reason for the expansion of the FBall stadium. If they start Right after the End of football. It *could* be ready 2007?

Again.. More questions than answers.
