I kinda agree with you, but I will take a wait and see approach and hope for the best. Sewak would have been my first choice, but if he was only going to stay 1 or 2 seasons (which I think was highly likely) we would be in the same position again very soon. I was very suprised he even interviewed with us. I'd want to be very sure he'd stay at least 3 seasons, no matter what offers he got - and he'd likely be plucked from us after just 1 or 2 good seasons.

I'm not sure, but did Argast really want to stay or was he too close to Masella? How many assistants are going to Fordham with Masella? If the kids liked Argast, that should have been a factor in the decision, but all this happened so fast (and at the wrong time), so its really put the school in a tough position. I also agree that McInerny has a well rounded resume, but his job at URI hasn't been spectacular and he has no HC experience.

There is some very good talent on the team and we have the potential to be a force in IAA football, but really what do we expect for a program still classified as "mid-major." The fact is playing as a restricted scholarship IAA program with little history and exposure, and even fewer resources makes this a very tough job to fill. With all due respect and gratitude to the NEC, CCSU needs to align its athletic program with larger public schools to take it to the next level!

Sewak was offered, he said no. Argast would have had to go through the search process because it is a state job and therefor needs to be searched for, he chose not to submit his resume and therefor was not a candidate.

So they end up with McInerny? Tell me he was the best of the batch?
