They got our number again. The Western PA trip becomes that much more important now. So we own the tie breaker over FDU, but Monmouth has it over us. Why can't we seem to beat them recently?

Also, check out the article about Monmouth proposed new facility.

Haven't read anything lately about the $250K study for a new CCSU on campus facility :(

Its been almost a year since we have heard anything about the study... Its too bag cuz' although the refurbished gym looks much better than the old one. It just wont give the Athletics Dept the traction a shiny new on campus gym/stadium would. My biggest fear is that these Private Univ. will pull away from Central teams because they have Mucho $$$ to throw at their teams.

President Miller, is a STRONG advicate of athletics building the reputation for a school...he will allocate the proper funds to take care of both the Basketball & Football programs.

I am glad the the new Prez supports the department... But where is he with this issue?? THere has been buzzing about this arena since Central won its first NEC crown.

The money for a new arena would not come from the CCSU budget, the president will not be the one making the decision. If it ever happens, which in my opion is unlikely, the money will come from the city or the state, not the school.

The money for any new facility would not come from the CCSU budget per se, but is requested by the university and approved by the CSU Board of Trustees. Then the CSU system budget is presented to the Governor and Legislature and is funded by the state.

The process is no different than the new library they are building at Southern, the Vance academic building at Central, or a dorm at Eastern. Capital projects at the individual universities are funded by the state through the CSU BOT. That is where the $250K for the study came in the first place.

And the City of New Britain is not funding anything that is on campus. Unless something is built downtown along the proposed busway, the city will not contribute.

Here is a summary of the Governor's reccommended FY 05-07 budget for CT Higher Education. The legislative appproved budget may vary from this report.

Back to my orginial point. What is the status of the $250K study that was already funded? Its been well over a year since we have heard anything.
