This is a different "Johnson," but it sounds like good news from the Delaware News Journal:

Once Darrell Johnson finished a college visit last week, it did not take long to decide that was the school for him.

Johnson, a 6-foot-4 Howard senior, made his verbal commitment to Central Connecticut State University last Friday, two days after visiting the campus in New Britain, Conn., a suburb of Hartford.

"I was that overwhelmed," said Johnson, who earlier made official visits to Delaware and Marist. Johnson expects to sign in the late period that starts April 12.

Central Connecticut State, with almost 9,700 undergraduates, plays in the Northeast Conference. The Blue Devils went 18-11 this season, including a 79-73 loss at Delaware, and lost in the semifinals of the NEC Tournament to eventual champ Monmouth (N.J.).

The team will graduate two of four guards on the roster, a situation that favors Johnson.

"Coach [Howie Dickenman] said if I come in and work, there shouldn't be any reason why I can't start," Johnson said. "Getting strong and adjusting to the speed is the biggest change from high school to college, and that's what I'll have to work on."

You never know, but I would rather of had the other Johnson. I hope this doesn't make other potential guards think twice about signing. Can we get some size please?
