Getting out of hand? You think Ingo can cover Josh Boone? You're joking right? This is the only game all season where the lack of height has made a difference. Don't forget they have outrebounded 4 of 7 opponents, and one of those games they were only outrebounded by one.

I think we are itching to see the big man play more than garbage time. We also want to see what he can do. Middleton redshirted and this guy is waiting in the wings.

He (Ingo) could of at least stood around the hoop and prevented alley oops. Thats what I meant by getting out of hand. Hickenbottom is not any good and I really dont want to see a undersized, strictly rebounding forward starting.

The UConn game was not out of hand. What killed us was the 10 point run at the end of the first half and the 9 points UConn scored (all three pointers - not dunks) to begin the second half. They were out manned, but played a solid game. They had respectable stats and the CCSU bench outscored UConn's, so lets not say the sky is falling.
I agree that the team should try very hard to get more size out there for defensive reasons as soon as possible, but as insider pointed out those players have to be ready and the coaching staff doesn't think they are yet. You can't really think a kid (even if he's 6-11) that didn't play HS ball and only played 1 season of JC will be ready for DI games. You must be realistic that the 2 big men are projects - the potential is there, but size alone will not make them good players - coaching will. Only time will tell how good they can be and I too hope they can be impact players sooner rather than later.
I think Rich and Obie are playing very well. Chiera is still a cold shooter now, but he is always a threat. D.A. is really starting to step up and has the potential to be a real force in the NEC. Javier is pure hustle and heart and is the sparkplug to start a rally or end a drought. Tristan's defense is great and Jefferson is becoming a solid contributor off the bench. And CCSU20M you're wrong -Hickenbottom is good and will only get better with more time! He is very agressive and will almost garuntee that he will have a much bigger impact than the 2 project players you want to see play now. I certainly don't promote rough play, but I do like the way he and Obie stood tall after that cheap elbow on Javier. They both stood their ground, but didn't go overboard and kept their heads. It was a good sign of toughness even though the game was over.
Overall this is a very solid team and they are starting to show some signs of potential, but they must win the games they are supposed too (Samford and FIU)!! They can't look past any game or team, but any more bad losses, especially in conference will be very dissapointing even with a run come tourney time. I would expect at least a split in CA and then a must 2-0 sweep at home vs. Loyola and MSM. In my opinion wins will get the team on track.
