Why didn't Pittman play? I like Hickenbottom. but he shouldn't be playing this many minutes. He's great to come off the bench for a couple minutes and give the team some energy, but five turnovers for a guy who doesn't even handle the ball much is ridiculous. I haven't given up on this team just yet (but it's close), but the recruits for next year sound pretty good. They both have size, and Winters sounds like he's a good shooter. Robinson sounds very athletic. I don't think Howie enjoys starting 3 guards, and has had success in the past with a bigger, slow-it-down type of team. These two recruits sound like they might step in right away, and one of them might even start. This team will also have Ingo and Middleton with another year of experience, and Blackwood might have a breakout season next year (similar to Anderson this year). I don't expect much this year, but next year this team should be a serious contender.

I agree, you can not win a game with 20 turnovers. The Stats were pretty much the same for both teams. This was a winnable game. Which brings me to an interesting comment I herd on 1410 or 660 this weekend. The announcer was talking about how you can not build a contending NBA team without 1 superstar to focus the team. I was thinking that the same could be said for NCAA teams as well. The superstars are gone from Centrals bench ( for this season anyway)
I also agree that a 3 guard set is probably not what howie is happiest with either.

I haven't given up on the team yet either (and won't), but realistically right now CCSU might not even make the NEC tourney. With LIU and MSM improving so much from last year, we could be looking in from the outside. I never thought I'd have to say that this year, but we NEED some big wins on the road at Wagner, MSM and QU - plus home wins vs. in-state rivals SHU and QU. Those 5 wins should earn a spot in the NEC tourney, but its not a given for sure.

Moose - I'm not so sure, the Pioneers can sure pull off a win or two (although they probably won't make they playoffs). Central is really fighting for a spot and they can't take any team for granted.

Imagine this: The Devils must go 6-3 in their last 9 games just to salvage a .500 conference record (9-9 NEC, 13-14 overall). And even if they do that (which will be very tough) they must still win 2 tourney games and reach the NEC finals again just to avoid an overall losing season.

SHU shocked me last night, by beating Monmouth at the Pitt Center.
