Each one of those games costs the Q about $15,000...there isn't that kind of money floating around at CCSU.

I knew QU had to pay something for those extra games on TV and if they can't get advertisers to cover their costs it can be very expensive. I agree Central doesn't have the $ for that and unfortunately I think that might give QU an edge in the future because CCSU is on a tight budget and QU has a lot more financial resources. As for televised games, I have DirectTV so I can only see games on ESPN, FOX SportsNet, NESN or MSG, but I guess any games on TV (Cablevision, local networks, CPTV, Public access, etc.) aren't bad for the school as long as someone else is paying for it.

But actually the budget situation was my first question about the schedule - why only 1 "payday" game? Unlike football we can keep close with bigger programs, so shouldn’t we have 2 more paychecks? I just figured we could use the money.

You answered your own question. Why would a higher-profile team want to pay a school to come in and possibly beat them?

Agreed, that is something to be worked on but hopefully the entire production this season resembles more the Cox broadcasts than the Nutmeg ones. Nutmeg has very limited resources, thus the poor video quailty and the shabby production.

I guess you are right J.J. Any TV exposure is good...

If Central is going to go with Nutmeg in televising some games this season, I just wish that the Nutmeg Production was a little better. I taped some of the games and it looked like they were playing ball in a cave. Too dark!
