Subject: A good time and chance for an A-10 win

I saw the game there 2 years ago. It was a nice trip while I was in state for Thanksgiving. Before the game eat at the buffet, play some blackjack and then head in for the game! Also, frequent gamblers get comp tixs, so it’s not too hard to even get a free seat from someone with too many (everyone was really nice). Its a nice deal we have w/ Mohegan Sun, although I hope next year we could get a different team (3 year in a row vs. UMass). Maybe we could get a weaker ACC team (VT or Clemson) looking to recruit in BC's backyard. Or maybe get team a “big name school” with a struggling b-ball team like WV, Miami, or Penn St. It will be a much tougher game to win but, you might put more butts in the seats.

Anyway, this is a very winnable game. UMass is just a young as CCSU and we could use an A-10 win. Anytime we can beat a non-BE New England foe it’s a good one for the resume. However, UMass hung tough with BC this weekend and their losses to TX Tech and Hartford were pretty demoralizing, so I expect them to fight to the bitter end to keep CCSU out of the win column. Don’t forget we are still supposed to be a cupcake for UMass because we play in the NEC, so here is hoping Central pulls it off, again! Blue Devils 68 – Minutemen 64.

I dont think an ACC team puts more butts in the seats....not many local fans follow UVA, etc. in this area....but there are plenty of UMass fans in the seats...not a bad crowd just tough on a TUesday night....but Mohegan Sun is not going to play the game on a weekend because they have other, higher drawing events during those times...

Your probably right. Yale didn't draw that well vs. Wake in Bridgeport. And I think Harford played Clemson at Mohegan last year, but I don't know what they drew. Its just with such a small home gym, its impossible for us to ever schedule a higher profile team in a "home" game. We can't even get a 2-1 deal with higher profile teams. I think Mohegan is the best we can hope for.

Tuesday night does suck. Although I can rememeber 2 years ago that game must have been a Sun or Mon, becasue I made a long weekend of it in CT. I still like the Mohegan idea, but I'm up for any ideas to improve scheduling and team exposure. On a related note, I was at last Sunday's game and for the 2 day tourney we are averaging 2,000+. That's not bad, and it better than what Northeastern and BU are drawing, so I won't complain too much!

agreed. home attendance is always good. Hartford vs. Clemson was 2 years ago and it was a doubleheader with the women. UMass-CCSU two years ago was on a weekend...

Anyway, it's always good to beat an A-10 team.
