Subject: Old Mates

Hi guys .I was on the Are in 1960-61 number 10 mess 2 FXPT
I remember Shacks, Hamilton Le Mare,and can picture others of the staff.
My shipmates at the time were a lad called Fortune from Peterborough ,near where i live in Stamford Lincolnshire ,Bev Best i remember ,a lad we called Jacko in my mess and a guy calle Vernon Edwards . I left the Are coz i was very homesick ,and at times have regretted it ,but my time there was ok .Would love to go to New York and walk on those decks again ,,,, please get in touch if anyone remembers me ,DJE
