Saturday was one of those days where they (the fish) are there, you are there, but there is little or no interaction between the two groups. They just, plain didn't want to bite anyone or anything. Saw some flyguys hooking them (the Browns) in the dorsal and adipose fins all day long with beadhead weighted flys who gigged seven but we only managed to catch one. That one was caught on a four pound test micro-lite spinning rod outfit (only four foot rod) with an egg sack. Some days you just take your lumps and be glad you fish for a living and had a good day on the water. Today we floated Salmon River from Ellis Cove to Route 2A bridge and we hooked up three METALHEADS and landed two, one seven pounds and the other eight pounds. One was a SKAMANIA with LP-AD Clip (LEFT PECTORAL-ADIPOSE), the other had no clips. Both were sows and snapped at Lucille Ball Orange/gold #35 hotshot. We saw a LOT of chinook and some coho nested up on gravel and digging. Hardly anyone on the river sunday except for at Ellis Cove and the Old Trestle. We'll be going back after brown trout tomorrow and will report when we have time. Good fishing. walleyed out!
