2/1 - Salmon River Report
3-6 inch's of snow fell last night and then it all turned to a good soaking rain. Presently the wind is howling out of the West at 20-30 plus knots. (White caps in the estuary)

Put all of this together and it means 1 thing. FISH!

Good amount of run-off happening presently. Creeks and smaller streams may be unfishable? Salmon river is perfect and running at 500 cfs plus run-off. I would have to guess its probably closer to 1 full gate (700 cfs) down river, maybe a lil more? With high gusting winds it will continue to melt what snow we still have on the ground. With strong Westerly winds coming straight off the lake it will only help push more steelhead into the river.

Enjoy,

Randy
