...but four buildings in the World Trade Center have collapsed at last count and the only reason why the US hasn't declared war over it is, no one has even assumed responsibility yet. The segments of the world financial system that were up and working today were in free-fall except gold and oil. Entire segments of the country's culture and economy are shut down and sensitive areas worldwide have been cut off for the duration. This is more than a tragedy, it is an unprecedented disaster. Get off this board and sign up to donate blood: Call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or cut and paste http://search.yellowpages.msn.com/yellowpages/simplesearch?kwd=American+Red+Cross to search for an American Red Cross near you. We called our local (in Fairfield NJ) and they told us they would call back when they can handle us. It's not that they don't need everyone. They just can't take everyone at once at the same time that the standard emergency and hospital systems are stressed, there are makeshift systems at public transportation sites, and major traffic arteries are shut down.

The company I work for is way ahead of you, Jen. They are already calling for volunteers and the van is coming out ASAP. I urge all of you who work for major corporations to pick up the phone today and call your Company Activities Department and get on the stick to get that blood into the banks!

I challenge all of you to do this!! The people in New York need our help!!!
