Subject: You could go French: "La Spirale de L'Escargot" could be a fine euphemism for his career.

Seriously, I haven't had the time yet to read all of the reviews. I'll do it asap. I've been a little out of it recently and I apologize.

"...The only good news is that Warner displays no signs of stage fright, a pluckier achievement than it might sound. The Feast of Snails would reduce Superman to a nervous wreck. Imagine an under-the-weather Ibsen attempting to write a commercial thriller as a little light relief from Ghosts and you will get some idea of the bilge on offer here... Warner's character manages the rare feat of being both unpleasant and uninteresting. After 30 years of playing Hollywood villains, the actor could do the role in his sleep, and often appears to be doing just that... The dialogue is full of portentously creaky thriller-speak... It's a dreadful play, with the dramatist unable to decide whether he is writing a silly thriller or a pretentious family psychodrama. The only real mystery is what the hell The Feast of Snails thinks it is doing in the West End." The Daily Telegraph

Whoa, that *is* bad ... I can't even *imagine* DW playing an uninteresting character. Unpleasant, yes, but uninteresting ... ?! Now *that* would be interesting to see! ;-)

I hope he gets a play more worthy of him to do soon. BTW, do I remember correctly someone's mentioning that upcoming vacancy in Private Lives? Now *that* would be an interesting role for him. (Especially to me since it would mean that all three of my favorite actors would have done it--two of them in the West End and two on Broadway!) OK, how many here would like to see AR and DW in the same production of it???

I apologize for being out of it too lately--it's definitely not for lack of interest. To say that I'm overcommitted is an understatement. It's nice to hear from you all via your posts though. Hope everyone's well!
