It's the seven hour long television series with Ken Marshall, and Leonard Nemoy, and David Warner etc...
It was my Dad's favorite when I was little, he taped it off the TV onto Bata and we would watch it all the time... I had scenes memorized at the age of seven!!

I agree though... one of the best movies ever.
