I've posted on my home page the photo that Jen took last Sunday of DW and myself. I'm so glad it came out. Here's the URL:

It's not as bad as I dreaded but the fact that I was on street level pointing up made the exaggerated camera angle and the flash not hitting your faces (actually that may have been a good thing). The vestibule is too small to take a pic straight on; so if someone wants to try, see if you can coax him down to street level. Thanks Melissa!

What a great picture! (With a smiling DW, no less! Of *course* YOU were smiling!!) Pretty good for the camera angle too (nice job, Jen!).

You have a great smile, Melissa. You look a lot like a friend of mine locally! I almost thought that was her in the pic at first glance.

I bet you're going to cherish it forever! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Did you two call each other ahead of time to decide what color to wear? ;-) Must be a psychic connection!

I updated my subsite as well as I could under the circumstances before going underground. (I can't put off planning for Christmas and doing some basic financial work any longer.) Considering the comments he's made to the press recently I thought it would be wiser to bury the "recipe file" further than before and to strengthen the disclaimers.

Not before I scratched a couple of itches, of course:

Continental Sangria
1 bottle Merlot (or Cabernet if you don't mind tannin)
1 can plum nectar
1/4 - 1/2 cup sugar (opt.)
1 bottle designer water, or energy drink of choice (like Snapple's Rain or Diet Air), or French Lemonade
1/4 cup red or purple grapes, halved
1/2 red apple, sliced
1/2 blood orange, sliced crosswise
Mix sugar, if desired, into liquids in a large pitcher. Add fruit and steep overnight at least. Serve over ice.

Iberian Sangria Spritzer
1/4 oz. Beirao (Portuguese liquer)
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 cup port wine
1/2 cup lime seltzer
1 dash Rose's Lime Juice
Serve with an orange slice over ice.
