In reply to: Melissa 's message, "DW Interview in today's NY Times" on 06:18:02 07/29/01 Sun

even if the author did do a new interview with Peter Hall. Maybe I'm just exhausted. It's sad to think that his wife's never had a chance to see him on stage. Maybe that's finally what did it for him!
Now it's time for apologies. The "scroll" wound up looking like a long potholder with a fringe of strips of paper (hand printing was real pie inna sky now that I look back on it). The beauty of fan art is, of course, it's always good for a laugh even if for nothing else.
We caught him when he tried to open the stage door to go back in so we did little more than the presentation and a photo op. Obviously it being the day I'm sure he had someplace to go.
Melissa's bouquet was a nice batch of white roses, which only made what I did seem more overwrought, but of course the real problem is that these attempted hybrid online/offline things just don't graft. Sure, I printed out a bunch of messages but I could have just as easily made them up. Well, it sounded like a good idea at the time and about 35 people responded, which was a nice experience for me.

That had to be a lot of work for you and I for one really appreciate it. I'm certain it wasn't as bad as you make it out to be. I'm sure it was lovely.

:) I hope you had a lovely time at the play.

Meeting someone that you admire is often a bit disappointing. I'm sure that you had so many things to tell him... but he was in a hurry and you were nervous.

At least, this time, you can be sure that he got his birthday card (I still remember that one in 1998 that you sent to his talent agency).

BTW, what did you think of the play and of his performance? And why didn't you get YOUR picture taken with him?
