After his 100th performance in "A Thousand Clowns," TOM SELLECK left the Longacre Theater by a different back way — not the usual crowd- eluding route that takes him through an underground passage and into the Barrymore, which has a less-watched stage door. This time, he left by an alley on the theater's west side and went to a party down the block.

There was a crowd waiting for him there, too: the actors DAVID WARNER and LEN CARIOU and the actresses MICHELE LEE — who has known Mr. Selleck since the days when his "Magnum, P.I." had the time slot just before her "Knots Landing" on CBS — and CHRISTINE EBERSOLE, who greeted him by saying, "Hi, brother." She played his sister in the 1992 film "Folks!"

But he's making the "celebrity news" pages, after all this time; how droll!
Meanwhile I am done, done, stickaforkinit done. No more fiddling with the Hamlet essay. The Major Barbara page will be linked publicly probably over the weekend.
