Really? Where did you hear that? Oh, would it were true, but it seems he's not on the list of top candidates according to this site: http://www.gallifreyone.net/newstv.php. However, the most recent TV Doctor, Paul McGann would recommend him for the role, for what that's worth. "When asked for the name of an actor he thought should be in the role, McGann mentioned David Warner, because he was quite happy with the actor's work." (They worked together in Horatio Hornblower--in which DW's work was total genius, IMHO.) However, according to a 1989 interview, DW himself said, "I would like to do TV in Britain--not Dr. Who though. I believe they were interested in me for the role pre-Tom Baker." (Got that off Jen's site.) Then again, he's been known to change his mind before, hasn't he?
