*This wasn't' one of Connor's normal 'haunts', he normally didn't venture far from the dorms, either his own, or one of his friends. He just wasn't one for public places, he preferred the solitude of the rooms where he was alone, and 'safe', at least for the most part. But the silence was starting to get to him, he needed to get out, he was starting to feel trapped… he had eventually ended up at the barn, with Lena, having promised her he was going to help her ride again, and they spent the afternoon helping her get over her rather random fear of horses. She been around horses for a while…actually for a good deal of her life, at least for as long as Connor knew her… that was when Auric and them took her in. But her sudden spill, and then Connor's rather nasty injury had made a fear grow in her that was rather hard to get over. But she was willing to work on it, so work on it they were, but one can only push someone so far and after a while he saw that she had enough and well after cooling down his and her horses, they put them away and that somehow ended up with him here in the common room. this was his first time here, as far as he could remember at least. But he wasn't ready to return to his room, and well he had promised Lena 'ice-cream' for her nice ride today, and so after picking it up, this was the best place he could think of, where they could eat it in peace.

By now though the ice cream was long gone, the only reminder of it was the left over cup that sat on the end table, that side by the armrest of the couch… he had wanted to head back right away, once she was done eating, just go back to the dorms so he didn't get accused of kidnapping her all day… not that anyone would really care, but showing favorites sure would start problems. But he was too much of a softie, and when she nearly begged him to 'stay', he crumbled and gave in. He could never say no to puppy dog eyes, and she damn well knew it, and took advantage of it. So that was why he was still here… he was a young male, appearing no older then maybe 14, though some say he could appear older, while others said younger, but wasn't that the story of everyone's life? He left his hair down today, he preferred it down, which allowed the dark brown strands to topple messily down to just below his shoulders, tousled a bit from his earlier ride. Paired with his dark brown, almost black eyes, and naturally olive skin tone, he appeared very "Spanish', or at least that what was often said about him. He was still dressed in his riding gear, which consisted of a pair of slightly worn, black riding pants, and a light cotton tee-shirt. The shirt was a lighter color, slate blue to be exact; but do to wear the color of it was now starting to fade, despite this it was still fitting to his frame, as if it was 'made to do so'. He had a jacket on earlier, but it was now rested over the back of the couch, it having been ditched, do the room being to warm to continue wearing it. The outfit was completed with a pair of worn riding boots, but those two were ditched, resting at the foot of the couch so he didn't have them on the furniture. He had his legs curled up onto the touch with him. His right leg was curled up under him, though not in a way that would rest his weight on it, and cause it to fall asleep, his other leg, the left was curled up next to him. His upper body was positioned at a slight slant, so it rested against the arm of the couch, his left arm folded under his head, his brown strands 'sprayed' across it, his eyes closed. It was rather surprising to find him in such a relaxed position, as he rarely let himself get this relaxed anywhere, let alone in public. Something always seemed to be bothering, something always on his mind, and he was constantly paranoid over every little thing. It never took much to send him into a 'panic', he was often teased for being way too jumpy. But he was tired at the moment, another reason for wanting to head back, and that alone probably caused him to put his worries aside and just relax. Plus it was quiet at the moment, so there wasn't much to get him riled up.

Lena (or Apolena) was the girl he was with, she was younger then him, by about 5 years or so, making her about 9. She was small framed, frail, with brown hair, and soft brown eyes, there was nothing really that 'striking' about her, actually one often would say about her, that the most stunning thing about her, is that there is absolutely nothing stunning about her, which was surprisingly true. With fair skin, dark eyes, and hair so straight that it often was hard to do anything with, she was just the 'image' of being completely 'normal' when it comes to look. But what she didn't have in looks, she made up for in personality. Loud, hyper, and energetic, and with a little to much trust in her, she always managed to 'lighten' up people's moods. Often labeled a scatterbrain though, she often would gain a laugh out of people with out meaning too. She was just a bundle of energy, that never seemed to be worn out… with that said, it wasn't seen now.

She too was still dressed in her riding clothes, which consisted of a pair of beige breeches that when compared to Connor's looked extremely new. The white button up short sleeved shirt, was also in much better condition then Connor's simple tee-shirt. Though the outfit really was nothing fancy, next to Connor she did look out of place. She also had had a coat on earlier, it was getting warmer out, but it wasn't yet warm enough to go out with out one. But the room was warm, and she had peeled it off sometime before Connor, meaning it was under his forgotten for the time being. Her outfit was completed with the pair of black leather riding boots, which like the rest of her outfit, were in much better condition compared to Connor's. it wasn't that Connor's were in poor condition, it was more that Connor hasn't' cared to replace anything yet, they still worked, so why bother? She has also lost her boots, leaving them next to Connor's at the foot of the couch, which allowed her to curl up. she had fallen asleep sometime back, also exhausted from the ride. No the ride really hadn't been really that grueling, they hadn't done much of anything other then a lot of waking and some trotting, but emotionally it had been rather draining. Her head rested on the older male's lap, one arm resting over her face as if to block the light, her other was resting over her stomach. Connor rested his free hand on her head, the fingers tangled in her hair, playing with it absentmindedly, something she didn't even seem aware of.

Lena was fast asleep, her soft, and deep breaths gave that away a while ago, Connor on the other hand wasn't quite at that stage yet, but at this rate it wouldn't take him long to get there. Either way both were completely oblivious to their surroundings and what was going on around them. They had been alone earlier, but if anyone joined them since then, they weren't aware of it. Oblivious wasn't' something Connor would normally allow himself to be, as if someone was going to sneak up and jump him the moment he let his awareness drop. That was probably exactly what he feared, but at the moment he knew he was safe. A feeling that was instilled by the black wolf that lounged at the base of the couch.

The wolf was Connor's safety blanket so to speak, and basically speaking went everywhere with him. Connor rarely felt comfortable without him, so after the ride, and before getting ice-cream, he had insisted they at least pick him up, something Lena didn't argue with. At the moment though the wolf looked no more aware then his two human companions, frame slightly curled, his head resting on his front paws, his breaths came deep, and even, showing that he too has fallen asleep, in the laziness of the moment. But really don't' let him fool you, asleep or not, he was always aware, constantly ready, and always protecting.

This was probably how, that despite being asleep, he would be the first to pick up not only the fact that someone joined them, but anything that can be perceived as a threat, and he would be the first to react. He was protective of his master, and would do anything to keep him, and anyone Connor saw as a friend safe. But for now, for now they were safe, and comfortable, and he had no need to worry. Head lifting, golden gaze moving towards the door as someone entered, but once more sensing no threat he lowered his head again, frame shifting so he was stretched out on his side, eyes once more closing, as he once more drifted back to sleep... *
